What's New - September 2026

One-time code sign-up, invited users choosing their own password, a company phone number on reports, phone browser links that point to the mobile app, and a batch of mobile capture and annotation fixes.

Written by Michelle Ennis

Here's what's new in SiteDNA this month: sign-up now uses a one-time email code, invited teammates choose their own password, reports can show a dedicated company phone number, and SiteDNA links opened in a phone browser now point you to the mobile app.

Simpler, safer sign-up

Signing up for SiteDNA now uses a secure emailed one-time code to verify your account, replacing the old flow that could leave new sign-ups stuck. Enter your details, confirm the 6 digit code sent to your email, and you are in, no separate login step required. This applies to both the web app and the mobile app.

Choose your own password when you're invited

Invited users now set their own password the first time they log in, on both web and mobile, instead of getting stuck with an automatically generated one. On mobile, Forgot Password finally works end to end too, so resetting a password there is just as easy as it already is on web.

A real company phone number for your reports

Reports used to show the account owner's personal phone number, pulled straight from their profile. You can now set a dedicated company phone number during company onboarding, or anytime after in Company Settings, and your reports (PDF and online) will show that instead.

SiteDNA links on your phone now point to the app

Opening a SiteDNA link, like a property or issue link, in your phone's browser now shows a clear prompt to use the mobile app instead of a limited mobile web view. Tap Download app to go straight to the App Store or Play Store, or Continue to app if it's already installed. Shared online reports still open normally in the browser for clients, no app required.

More improvements

  • Mobile now shows a countdown ribbon when your trial is ending, so you always know how many days are left and where to go to choose a plan.

  • Company address is now a required field during sign up, so features that rely on it always have accurate information to work with.

  • Deleting a property, issue, or report no longer removes it from reports that already reference it; it now stays visible there with a clear archived label instead of disappearing.

  • Toggling a report option (like Show Price or Show Status) no longer jumps you back to the top of the report, so you can keep working right where you left off.

  • Mobile issue groups now show a persistent select all checkbox in the group header, matching how web already works.

  • The mobile issue gallery is now grouped by date by default, making it easier to work through a single site walk's worth of issues at once. You can still switch to another grouping at any time.

  • Tapping a pin on the mobile map no longer recentres or rezooms the view, so you can tap through nearby pins without losing your place.

  • The delete/duplicate menu for an annotation placed near the edge of a photo now stays fully visible instead of getting clipped off the image.

  • Report titles and the report avatar are now shown consistently on mobile.

  • Fixed the photo crop gesture on mobile.

  • Fixed a typo on the mobile sign up screen.

  • Cleaned up several small visual details on web, including table row states on Properties and Reports, the annotation discard confirmation, and the issues filter panel.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue on mobile where applying a template, or even a plain edit, could unexpectedly reorder the issue gallery even when sorted by create date.

  • Fixed an issue on mobile where the location pin would not appear when setting an issue's location during capture for a photo without existing GPS data.

  • Fixed an issue on mobile where changing the thickness of a selected annotation had no effect, even though changing its colour worked correctly.

  • Fixed an issue on mobile where existing photos could show up blank until the app was restarted. Photos, thumbnails, and map pins now retry automatically if they fail to load.

  • Fixed an issue on mobile where newly captured photos could take minutes to become usable, or fail entirely, if you moved on to another property before the upload finished.

  • Fixed an issue where report covers, viewers, and PDFs showed a placeholder logo when a company had not uploaded one; the space is now left blank across web and mobile.

  • Fixed an issue on web where turning on inspections from the property list closed the dropdown before you could set the Last Inspected date.

  • Fixed an issue where tags, categories, templates, and property labels could be created with a name that already existed; you will now see a clear inline error instead.
