Templates are pre-built issue setups that save time in the field. Instead of typing out the title, price, category, tags, and description for every issue, your inspectors can apply a template and have the details filled in automatically.
Creating a template
Templates are set up on the web app under your company settings.
Log in to the SiteDNA web app.
Go to Company Settings > Templates.
Click Create Template.
Fill in the details you want to pre-fill:
Title. E.g., "Missed Weeding," "Medium Tree Removal," "Snow Hauling"
Price. The default price for this item (can be left blank)
Category. Select the relevant category (e.g., "Maintenance," "Tree Care")
Tags. Apply any default tags (e.g., "Deciduous," "Warranty")
Description. Optional standard description text
Click Create.
A template title is the only required field. Any fields left empty in a template won't overwrite existing values when the template is applied to an issue.
Editing and deleting templates
You can edit or delete templates anytime from Company Settings > Templates on the web app.
Applying templates in bulk
If you've already captured several issues and want to apply the same template to all of them:
From the issue gallery inside a property, select the issues you want. You can pick them individually, or select all issues in a group.
Tap or click the lightning bolt icon in the action bar at the bottom.
Select the template you want to apply.
Any fields set in the template will be applied to all selected issues. Fields left empty in the template won't overwrite existing values.
Good to know
Think of templates as your most common findings. If your inspector captures the same type of issue regularly (e.g., "Irrigation head broken," "Turf damage"), a template will save them significant time.
Templates are shared across your whole account. Any user can apply them in the field once they're set up.
To apply a template while capturing an individual issue, see: How do I capture issues during a site walk?
